Set in the world of our future where human life is under restricted control and births are strictly controlled by a super-organism, tasked with arresting anyone who comes into the world without Permit Procreation, Former police officer, Shaun Morrison, is now recalled to duty to investigate the enigma of an "irregular" ( a person born without permit of procreation and without a regular chip id implanted) that seems to have just the features of his lost wife Anne.
Cybernetic implants in the human body have become the norm. The lifespan of those who can afford the replacement of biological organs with artificial ones are extended almost 3 and sometimes 4 times what would otherwise be the natural span. Births are strictly controlled by a menacing police supranational constabulary, a super-organism, tasked with arresting anyone coming into the world without Permit Procreation and anyone who conspires against the system, to change the "status quo". The world is dominated by old plutocrats in charge of powerful corporations.
Former police officer, Shaun Morrison, who has been forced to resign from the Police Dept. following the death of his wife, Anne (she has been involved in a terrorist attack on the research laboratory where she worked), is now recalled to duty to investigate the enigma of an "irregular" ( a person born without the requisite Procreation Permit and without a regular chip id implanted) which seems to possess the features of his wife Anne. The "Irregular", stormed the Life+ building, a private Institute specialising in life extension killing everyone. It is one of the clinics where cybernetic implants are manufactured. Morrison is reinstated in the police department, where he finds old colleagues and old adversaries.
So his investigation begins, but in an atmosphere of doubt and skepticism. It is an investigation that brings the world to the edge of destruction and the life of Man to the brink of extinction.
